I took on the role of CEO at LGL one year ago, having been with the Group since 2011. Within the last twelve months the Group has been expanding, introducing new business lines and additional expertise to the Senior Leadership team.

It has been an extremely busy and positive period, managing change and culture within a growing organisation. Nurturing a high level of employee engagement over this period has reinforced our aim of not only delivering the best to our clients, but to our employees as well.

At LGL we make it our mission to encourage shared values, attitudes and behaviours, because workplace culture is key. A director-led approach has always been a consistent focus across the business. Therefore, whilst managing change and growing the organisation it is vital to ensure workplace culture is driven from the top down, with our directors acting as role models for our employees.

By demonstrating these values in our day to day work, our employees feel a responsibility to uphold their meaning. Employees’ expectations and demands have been shifting considerably over recent years and now, with so much competition in the market, a good salary, while always important, is no longer enough. Employees want to be happy and feel valued in the workplace and it shouldn’t be underestimated how important it is for your people to feel valued. LGL’s success is ultimately recognized as a result of the efforts of all and respect for one another.

This is a prime example of why positive workplace culture is so important at LGL and what an aligned employee base can achieve. This is also is a huge testament to our employees and the reason we will continue to support and develop our culture. A sentiment I feel is true for every business is that, you can’t have satisfied clients without the employees being your stars and you can’t have the stars without satisfied clients.
